“Samia” is the best person who embodies the role of Yemeni women in the midst of life’s difficulties.

The Yemeni woman has always been known for her strength, patience, and endurance of difficult life conditions alongside her life partner.

Our hero, Samia, is the best person who embodies the role of the Yemeni woman, amidst the difficulties of life.

Samia is a woman in her thirties, her husband has special needs, and she has one 15-year-old boy, all of whom live in Sana'a.

The family suffered greatly due to the deterioration of their financial situation, which forced Samia to sell her car as spare parts, but the situation did not improve but rather worsened, so she thought about starting a project that her husband could work on, she could not think of anything other than opening a grocery, and she sold her gold to be able to open the project .

Initially, the situation was predicting improvement, but it soon began to decline due to the deterioration of security and the country’s situation, in addition to the weak purchasing power of citizens, forcing Samia and her husband to close the grocery.

Days passed and her husband's illness became more severe and he moved to God's mercy, leaving Samia grappling with the burden of life alone and her son amid a huge pile of confusion, anxiety and frustration.

Samia got acquainted with # National Microfinance Foundation and the services it provides for small projects, especially economic support for Yemeni women, and soon she applied for funding and received support from the Foundation to reopen her only source of income, the grocery. She also managed to enroll her son in a private school, where she takes turns working with him in the grocery store after returning from school.

"In my area, I became an example of success, even for the men in my neighborhood, where I encouraged a neighbor  to open a grocery store after seeing my success in improving my livelihood," Samia says.
